The B at Bishops badge to students who achieved excellent achievements both within the Academy or achieving success at sporting events, representing the Academy or significant contribution to the life of the community. This badge should be seen as a major award and is not awarded lightly. The recipients are worthy of much praise and ‘membership’ to the blue B at Bishops is highly restricted.

On behalf of Keep Croston Tidy Community Group, Mrs Strachan Volunteer Litter Picker, wrote to praise students from the Academy. Eleanor Finley, Elisha Blunt, Sophie Collinson and Lucy Websdell, who are all members of Croston Scouts, turned out in terrible wet weather on Saturday 3 July for a good three hours, to litter pick around the village. The youngsters certainly did themselves, their families, Croston Scouts and Bishop Rawstorne Academy proud with their excellent attitude, enthusiasm and hard work! They collected a great deal of litter, helping Croston, hopefully, to gain advantage towards their competition entry for Lancashire Best Kept Village 2021.

Motorbike Race Craft – On Saturday 10 July, under very unpredictable weather conditions, and coming off his bike twice, and having to rebuild his bike to enable him to continue, Sam managed to achieve a 3rd place in one of his three classes which he raced in. On the Sunday (11 July) Sam achieved a 2nd place in one of his classes and then in the final race he gained 1st place, beating a rider who had never lost a race. After receiving his trophies Sam was presented with the marshal’s ‘Rider of the Day’ cup, a great honour and especially considering he has only been racing for 2 years.
